Inspired by ancient mosaics and the way weather touches water — tiny ripples, curves, and layers of color at a small scale. It reads as texture from a distance and reveals itself as something more complex up close, especially when lit from within. Having stood in the Fermoie factory and watched the gathering and welting that gives each shade its finish, Laura and Vassar came home with the Popple as one of their great enthusiasms.
