The use of white glaze over terra-cotta in the ITHAKA collection is inspired by the painted mixed-media sculpture of Cy Twombly. The candlesticks are hand-formed in Ellen Robinson's Brooklyn studio — coiled and pinched from earthenware clay, fired twice, and finished in that signature white glaze that reads differently in candlelight than in daylight. Sold as a pair.
