Kelvin Mann explores the concept of movement and migration through the lens of navigation. His prints explore different modes of navigating through the world – whether it be through instinct, technology, or human ingenuity – through depictions of migrating birds, schools of fish, lighthouses and maritime maps. Mann’s work highlights the significance of these navigational aids, and the gold and platinum leaf embellishment signifies the value we should place on the natural world and its inhabitants. Kelvin Mann was born in New Zealand in 1972 and educated at the Otago School of Fine Art. After several years working as an animation artist, Mann moved to Dublin to become a member of the Graphic Studio Dublin. Kelvin Mann has been Studio Manager at Stoney Road Press, Dublin, since 2002.
