This placemat comes from master weavers on Colombia’s Atlantic coast, and you can feel the hours that went into it. Artesanías del Atlántico works directly with artisan workshops in a dozen small towns across the region. Each placemat is handwoven from natural fiber in a pattern of little mushrooms, a woodland motif that feels just as at home on a Maine table in late summer. In blue it’s cool and relaxed. In terracotta it’s warm and earthy, lovely on a bare wooden table. Because every one is made by hand, no two are exactly alike.
