Margaret Sheldon Salt Water Farm 13 in. x 10 in. framed
Painted from the top of Monhegan Island, on the clearest day, Margaret Sheldon's thoughtful vignettes bring to mind themes of conservation and the wild biodiversity of Maine islands. The intimate portraits of vegetation and clear blue skies breathe island air and play with perspective. Born in The Bronx, Margaret Sheldon graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design’s School of Architecture and worked in the Boston area for years. Later Sheldon turned her creative eye to painting, devoting herself to painting florals and plein-air landscapes. Her studio is now located in the South End of Boston.
